These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of YesOrNo — the website at yesorno.nz and its decision tools, including those served from subdomains such as solar.yesorno.nz, car.yesorno.nz and will.yesorno.nz (together, the "Service"), operated by YesOrNo. By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

YesOrNo provides decision-comparison and scenario-modelling tools for general information only. It is not financial, tax, investment, legal, or other professional advice, and it does not take into account your particular circumstances, goals or needs.

The tools do not know your full situation and cannot account for everything that may affect you. You are responsible for your own decisions. Before acting on any output, consider obtaining advice from an appropriately qualified professional (for example, a licensed financial adviser, or, for anything to do with a will or estate, a New Zealand lawyer or trustee company).

The Service is designed to work without an account. The information you enter into a tool is held only in your own web browser (in local storage) on your device — it is not collected, transmitted to, or stored by us. See our Privacy Policy for detail.

Because your data stays on your device, it is your responsibility to keep it secure and to clear it (via the tool’s controls or by clearing your browser data) on shared or public devices. We cannot recover data that is lost or cleared.

Comparisons rely on assumptions, third-party data, and the inputs you provide. Results are estimates and may differ from real-world outcomes. We do not warrant that any figure, saving, projection or recommendation will be achieved.

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it by unauthorised means, reverse engineer it, or use it to break any law. We may suspend or restrict access that breaches these Terms.

The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available', without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent you are acting in trade, the guarantees in the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 are excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YesOrNo and its contributors will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense (including any indirect or consequential loss) arising out of or in connection with your use of, or reliance on, the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The Service, including its content, branding and software, is owned by YesOrNo or its licensors and is protected by law. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial decision-making. You may not otherwise copy, resell or redistribute the Service or its content without permission.

The Service may link to third-party websites and resources for your convenience only. We do not control, endorse or take responsibility for their content, products or practices, and you access them at your own risk.

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction.
